Here are some of the sites on our itinerary.

In the north we will visit Caesarea Maritima, Tel Megiddo, Gideon Springs, the Ancient Boat Museum, Magdala, Mount of Beatitudes, Capernaum, Tel Hazor, Tel Dan, Caesarea Phillippi, Golan Heights, and a place where you can be baptized in the Jordan River.

In the Jordan Valley, we will see Beit She’an and Tel Jericho. In the Valley of Elah (think David and Goliath) we will visit an important excavation and have the archaeologist in charge, Dr. Yosef Garfinkel (head of Archaeology at Hebrew University), tell us about his important findings at Khirbet Qeiyafa. 

In Jerusalem, we will investigate the Western Wall, the City of David excavation, Hezekiah’s Tunnel, the Pool of Siloam, the Pilgrim Road, and the Kidron Valley. Other sights will be Gethsemane, the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, Pool of Bethesda, the Temple Mount, and the Davidson Center Archaeological Park. We will also visit the Mount of Olives, the Garden Tomb, and the Shrine of the Book.

We will descend well below sea level to the Dead Sea. There we will find Masada, Ein Gedi, and Qumran. We will also stop for a Dead Sea Float experience. 

Those are not all of the great places we plan to visit; we didn't even mention the Herodium or Temple Zero.

Is It Safe In Israel?

On October 7, 2023 Jewish people in Israel were viciously attacked. As you know, Israel declared war after that against Hamas. Obviously, this raises a lot of questions about any travel in Israel and we would like to address some of them.

 Koinonia House (K-House) has not canceled reservations for this tour. It is possible that by that time the war will have ended and the risk of any trouble during a tour would be greatly reduced. We hope that’s the case because we would love to be your host in Israel, but also because traveling would be supportive for the Jews and Palestinians there–for both their morale and economy.

 How would K-House determine when it’s safe to go? We will consider the US State Department’s Travel Advisory Level, statements from the Israeli government, current flight schedules, as well as assessments from our contacts in Israel. If the US Travel Advisory is “Level 3: Reconsider travel,” as it is now, we would not go. Usually, the advisory is “Level 2: Exercise increased caution.”

 We will assess the situation before we begin paying vendors for the tour. We want to be certain that the situation is realistically safe while there is still time for a full refund if we need to cancel.

 Please pray for the Israelis (Jewish and Arab people) as well as those in the surrounding nations. Nearly all of them do not believe in Jesus, and the majority even reject the God of Abraham. They need Him now more than ever! Pray for their eyes and ears to be opened and for wisdom from God. May His mercy be conspicuously visible once again.
